The Met office has issued a yellow snow and ice weather warning for Friday 2 March in the UK.

Snow storm Emma is currently battering Britain with strong winds and snow causing more chaos for motorists and commuters.

Snow showers are expected to continue across Scotland and the North of England this afternoon.

More snow is predicted to fall in London with patchy freezing rain expected in the south.

The Met Office said: “There is also and increasing chance that a further spell of more persistent snow may move northwards across southern England, Wales and central England during the day, reaching northern England by evening.”

This Gallery shows live weather forecast maps which detail where the snow is expected to hit the UK on Friday and over the weekend.
